Welcome, Newton Community Education students. Below are some very useful links for learning more about biodiesel production. These are the websites and resources that we use on a daily basis when we come across a question or problem. All links open in a new window.
Utah Biodiesel Supply: A wealth of knowledge regarding the production of small scale biodiesel. Also a supplier of chemicals and equipment. We deal almost exclusively through them.
National Biodiesel Board: National research organization. Contains information on the economics and environmental aspects of biodiesel production inside and outside of the country. The slides shown in class are from their website.
Infopop - BioDiesel : "We really like the Infopop Biodiesel Forum the best and participate there often. It has such a wealth of information & knowledge that we recommend it to everyone. The others are also good, but if you're ready to dive in, then Infopop is for you!"
Books:
William H. Kemp's book Biodiesel Basics and Beyond details biodiesel production for homeowners and goes into every single aspect of biodiesel production imaginable. He details many different ways of producing biodiesel including the appleseed design showcased in class. http://www.amazon.com/Biodiesel-Basics-Beyond-Comprehensive-Production/dp/0973323337
Here's a great introduction to the chemistry of BioDiesel from Graydon Blair.
